Big Mens Clothing
Speaking from experience I know hard it is to get good quality big mens clothing. Unfortunately there aren’t such a lot of big mens clothing stores lining the high streets or shopping malls, but things a re starting to look up with more big mens clothes shops advertising over the internet.
With each new generation we are seeing more and more big and tall people (not just men) and it seems that some of the higher quality clothes manufacturers are starting to notice. Levi’s in particular have several ranges of big men clothes, which is good news because jeans are a personal favorite of mine.
Big mens clothing
Being 6′ 7″ and weighting a little over 22 stone (OK, maybe a touch more than a little!) I find it hard to get decent looking clothes that actually fit me, rather than just hang off me and look like they’re held in place with rope or string.
Like most big men I know, I used to have to resort to buying my clothes from sports shops as they always had a range of “big men’s clothing” which also seemed to double up as extra large sportswear that just didn’t fit right and certainly didn’t look good. I may be big, but I do like to make sure I look at least presentable when I’m out in public.
I see a lot of larger people (not just big men, but a lot of large women too) who look like they’ve just wrapped a few yards of sack cloth around them before they left the house. Just because we are larger than the average person, doesn’t mean we are inferior in any way, or should expect to look (and be treated) like second class citizens. To me, looking good gives me that extra buzz I need to get my butt in gear and go about my life – and since buying good quality and well fitted big mens clothing is now so easy, we really have no excuse anymore.
The beauty for the online big mens clothing stores is that they don’t have to pay for shop premises in shopping malls, so have greatly reduced overheads – which ultimately means we get our clothes at decent value, not over inflated wallet busting ticket prices purely because they’re selling clothing for big men
To me, a big mans clothing line needs to cover as many bases as possible – just our smaller peers, we need shirts (big and tall shirts in the case), trousers, suits maybe, certainly shoes and trainers and most definitely big mens t shirts – and underwear is another story (don’t get me started on that one!).
